This page is dedicated to items that i have recieved either through purchase or through other means such as trade or auction. Namely antique items. Right now I only have a few items in my collection that are ranked as antiques, one being a Japanese sword. I’ll post pictures and stories for them periodically here for you all to see! enjoy! These items are for sale if anyone is interested!

1.) Gendai (1908) era unsigned Japanese high carbon steel katana.
This item came into my possession by way of one of my appraisals. It has since been restored to its ‘original’ luster. I’ve put about 150 into it for new fittings however, the tsuka (handle) and same (sting-ray skin wrapping) are original to the sword. This item has been appraised by myself, and has an estimated value of $300-350 USD. Having the blade restored has effected the price somewhat. The sword is in the shinogi-zukuri style. The hamon (temper) line is rythmic peaked pattern found in other blades of this time period. It is differentially tempered using the traditional clay tempering method. The blade, being unsigned, there is little that i could tell of its maker and place of origin. However, lack of hada (a grain) tells me that this is a high carbon steel blade.
The blade has been restored by a professional sword polisher, and the hamon has been re-etched to bring it back to prominence. It was too much money to have it finger polished so i had the hamon line etched. The fittings such as the tsuka ito and koiguchi are new the tsuba is a replacement as well. I am selling this sword at a best offer style between $300-350 USD. Anyone interested should contact me via the ‘contact me’ page. All appraisal documentation is included with this sword. Thank you!
edit: I wanted to mention that the saya (scabbard) is a little loose. It was made during the restoration process. I can shim the saya to make it more snug, upon request. (4/14/2009)
